Cataract surgery is the most common surgery in the U.S. Therefore, it's important we know what we can do to divert cataracts from ruining our view so to speak. Usually cataracts result from overexposure to sunlight which subsequently harms the proteins in the lens of the eye. The damage ultimately creates a cataract which stops any light from reaching the retina. Therefore, everything can look like sort of a blur.
It's been found that not wearing the proper eye protection as well as smoking can both increase one's risk of getting cataracts. Therefore, I guess it's cool as well as healthful to wear your shades and refrain from smoking. Other things you can do to lower your risk include eating your fruits and veggies (at least five times per day) and eating fish (about twice a week). So if you want to keep your eyes in check, don't forget to calendar in the aforementioned food items on your dietary calendar. In addition, limit your carb intake.
All these little measures can help you see everything a little more clearly.
